EXCITING FORTHCOMING EVENTS
TUESDAY 19TH FEBRUARY
VALENTINE’S DISCO
Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6
We are organising a Valentine’s disco for KS2. There will be dancing and games with food and drink on sale.
Tickets are £1 each. Please also send a small amount of money to buy food and drink. Would you like to join in the fun? Come and help and have a boogie. Contact Tina Evans for details.
Money raised will be used to purchase computers for our new ICT Suite. The events at Christmas raised enough money to purchase TWO computers at £350 each. Can we buy another one for Valentine’s Day?
LITTLE HEART’S PARTY
Bumblebees, Reception, Year 1, Year 2
Foundation Stage and KS1 are invited to a Little Heart’s Tea Party.
There will be themed party food as well as games and fun activities. The children are asked to come dressed in red. They are guaranteed to have a ball!
Again, if you would like to be involved in ANY way, you are very welcome. Could you come on the day and help the party along? Please ask Louise Cooke for details.
WALKING BUS
We are trying to start a ‘walking bus’ scheme. This would entail two or three parents in high visible jackets walking to school every morning with a group of children from a pre-decided location.
The benefit of this scheme would be to reduce the traffic coming to school and to provide a valuable opportunity for the children to exercise by walking. If anyone is interested in organising this scheme please contact school or speak to Mrs Jackson.
ECO DAY
(picture above)
On Tuesday 22nd January we were very pleased to welcome Nick Deakin to school. Nick came into our assembly to talk to the children about how we can help the environment, paying particular attention to recycling. He talked to the children in morning assembly and throughout the day he visited all the classes, speaking to the children about the environment.
Our Eco Guardians made recycled paper in the afternoon with Mrs Atherton and he was very impressed.
WEDNESDAY MORNING ASSEMBLY
Each Wednesday morning we hold a morning assembly in the school hall. Kelvin Bolton, our vicar, comes to jointly run our morning worship with Mrs Jackson.
Friends and family of children in school are always invited to attend. Please arrive at
9.00 am
through the main entrance.
F.O.S.P.P.S.
Friends of St Paul’s Primary School
FOSPPS is a group of people who meet on a regular basis to give their views on how our school is being run and to organise fundraising opportunities. This group is made up of all sorts of people and it isn’t necessary to have a child at school to be involved. This year we would really like to raise funds to put towards our eagerly anticipated ICT Suite. If you would like to be involved in any way please contact school or speak to Tina Evans, Jenny Gregory or Louise Cooke.
Our next meeting is on Monday 3rd March at
7.00 pm
. It will be a cheese and wine evening. If you haven’t been before this is a perfect opportunity to get involved. A crèche will be available.
ART CLUB
Mrs Atherton and her dedicated Art Club have been working very hard to create an outdoor mural which, when finished, will represent the ethos of our school and our beliefs. It has been designed completely by the children and we are, understandably, very proud of this.
