A MESSAGE FROM KELVIN
Advent Carols

Sunday 2nd December 2007 @ 6.30pm

Advent is a time of Hope for Christians, a time when not only do we look forward to celebrating the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, but to the time in the future when He will return. The service is structured around that great Advent Carol, 'O Come, O Come, Emmanuel' and we will at various points in the service read out the names of those whose funerals we have conducted in the past year. It is a service of hope, light and worship giving some meaning in a time of increasing darkness.

We hope that this act of worship, will in some way, be of help to you in your time of grief and also help you realise the assured hope that we can have through faith in Jesus Christ, not only in this life, but in the world still to come.

WOW what a great night at Goose Green Labour Club for the .'Inn Crowd,' Big thanks to Malc, Stuart and Pat and all at GG Labour club for the fantastic help.
thanks
Kelvin

F.O.S.P.P.S.

As you may not be aware F.O.S.P.P.S (Friends of St Paul’s Primary School) is a fund raising group that meets on a termly basis. It is made up of parents and family members of our children and staff.  We are always looking for new volunteers.  The next meeting of F.O.S.P.P.S. will take place in school on Tuesday 4th December at 2.30pm.  We will be finished by 3.15pm at the latest.

At this meeting we will be discussing our Christmas fund raising ideas.  If you have never been to a meeting before and you are available please call in.  There is no commitment to attend every meeting so why not come in and have a nosey?

NEWS ON OUR COMMUNITY CHEST GRANT

An update on the exciting new building works that you can see taking place in the playground.  Our Assistant Headteacher Mrs Walsh successfully accessed a grant for our school for £10,000.  The money is now being used to improve our school grounds for the children and the community.  This will include:

  • a sensory garden with shaded area

  • a pergola for Year 6 to use

  • flower beds for the children to tend

  • the playground is being marked out to be used as a netball pitch and a football pitch.

Would you or a member of your child’s family have an hour a week to spare to help to do some light gardening in school?
