MR McCARTNEY?S VISIT

All the school thoroughly enjoyed the visit by Mr McCartney. We have put some pictures on our school website. The school council interviewed Mr McCartney and found out many fascinating facts about being an MP and government.

?BIG WRITING? EXPLAINED

Wednesday 10th October 6pm ? 7pm. Mrs Jackson will be giving a brief talk on ?Big Writing? and raising standards in Literacy plus some top tips to help your child succeed with writing. Refreshment will be available. All welcome.

AN ALTERNATIVE TO HALLOWEEN

This year Mrs Cooke will once again be organising her very successful ?alternative Halloween party?. It will be during the October half-term holiday. If anyone would like to help with this event please see Mrs Jackson or Mrs Cooke. If anyone would like to donate any ?sweets? as prizes for the games we would be very grateful. More details to follow. All money raised will be going towards the new sensory garden and pergola which we will be building shortly on the field. A letter has already been sent home with the children but see the back page for more details.

LIBRARY HELPERS

Is there anyone who would like to volunteer to change the books for Key Stage 2 one afternoon per week? No experience is necessary except for the ability to use a computer and we will provide ?in-house? training on our computerised Abraquest library system.
Please see Mrs Jackson if you would like to have a go.

RATATOUILLE THEME DAY

On October 17th we will be holding a special ?Ratatouille Day? that has been chosen in honour of the new Disney film. Any children wishing to have a school dinner who are normally on packed lunches should send £1.80 in a named envelope to Mrs Bibby by Friday 12th October. All children who have a school dinner on that day will receive a special sticker.
The menu will be:-
Chicken Chasseur served with French green beans and a choice of potatoes
Chocolate éclair
Choice of drinks, milk, water or fruit juice.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Once again we have the opportunity to help others less fortunte than ourselves by providing them with a shoe box of gifts. Along with this Newsletter you will find a leaflet with more details ?
