IAN McCARTNEY
Our local MP Mr Ian McCartney has been hearing lots of encouraging things about our school and so will be paying us a visit on 4/10/07. Further details will follow.
FUN FRENCH
Madame Belshaw is running a 'Fun French' club for children aged 4 to 11 years during Thursday lunchtimes.
The cost is approximately £31.05 for a 9 week course.
Children then become members and can receive a CD, songbook, folder and badge for a further £9.95.
Spanish is also available at other venues. If you are interested please call Janet Belshaw on 01257 251358 or let the school know.
NETBALL
Lauren Dobson our SSCO netball Co-ordinator is once again running a before school netball club for Year 6 girls. This will take place every Wednesday from 8am to 8.45 am and we hope that all the girls who have been provided with a permission slip will be able to attend this free coaching session with Lauren.
OPEN DAY
Open day will be taking place on Thursday 15th November. All parents will be invited to attend. Further details will follow.
TERM TIME DATES
These are overleaf so that you can plan your holidays.
'BIG WRITING' EXPLAINED
Mrs Jackson will be holding a meeting for parents on Wednesday 10th October from 6pm to 7pm. During this session she will be explaining how we are using 'Big Writing' in school and how you can help your child.
BOOK FAYRE
Once again we will be holding a book fayre on Monday 1st October after school Keep looking for further details.
ART CLUB Monday, 24th September
Mrs Atherton will once again be holding her weekly art club on Mondays 3.30 till 4.30. This year it will be for KS1 only. There are 12 places available on a first come first served basis, with a voluntary contribution of £1. Please send a request into school on Monday so that we can allocate places.
SCHOOL CAR PARK
Could all parents please remember that the school car park should be used only in the case of an emergency. We have barely enough space to park staff cars and due to the lack of space and congestion the car park is a very dangerous place for our pupils.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
Could we remind parents that ALL items of school uniform should be labelled with your child's name. This will prevent items being lost as they can then be given back directly to your child.
PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS
A big thankyou to Mrs Walsh for applying and gaining a 'community chest award' of £9,900 to improve our playground.
