HOLIDAYS DURING TERM TIME
The government has now become even more stringent in not allowing children to take holidays during term time.
Parents need to apply in writing and if there is insufficient supporting evidence of why the holiday needs to be taken during term time and parents or guardians decide to still take the holiday, then the absence will appear on the register and the child's record as unauthorised.
The Education Welfare Officer will investigate any children who are absent due to holidays during term time and there will be a fine.
Parents are discouraged from taking their child out of school during term time because this is detrimental to their education, especially children who are below 85% attendance.
SCHOOL CAR PARK
Could all parents please remember that the school car park should be used only in the case of an emergency. We have barely enough space to park staff cars and due to the lack of space and congestion the car park is a very dangerous place for our pupils.
Additionally could we request that parents park their cars thoughtfully. There have been complaints made to school by local residents who cannot access their own property.
It is also not appropriate to block the passageway near to the Freemason?s.
Thankyou for your co-operation
NEW SCHOOL KITCHEN
Our school kitchen has now been refurbished in stainless steel along with brand new cooking equipment and it looks excellent. Karen our cook is now able to prepare even better healthy meals for our children and we hope you take this opportunity to encourage your child to take try school meals.
Please contact Mrs Bibby for further details of school meal arrangements
