WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK
Well done to all our families who joined in our walk to school week, even though the weather on some days was a little miserable. It proved to be a remarkable success and helps to demonstrate to the children the importance of healthy living and how they can achieve this daily. Thanks to all of you for joining us in promoting this activity.
INTERNATIONAL WEEK
This week in school each class have been finding out about a different country:
Reception – France, Y1 –
Children have been bringing in resources to help with displays and to discover more about these countries. Y6 are also beginning to email another school in
FOOTBALL
Pupils in KS2 are encouraged to attend football practice each week but unfortunately not everybody will be able to play on the team. Opportunities will be provided for as many players as possible. There is a match this Thursday so practice is cancelled. Thanks to Mr Fulster and Mr Cooke who, along with Mr Constable, help run our team and practice sessions.
YEAR 4 WIDER MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES
All children in Y4 have now all received their musical instrument, loaned to them by The Wider Opportunities Scheme run by the government. The children have been inspired by their musical achievements and are improving rapidly. Mr Duncan, with his extensive brass band and musical experience, has also been helping the children to practice.
The children are encouraged to practice as much as possible at home and we look forward to their very first concert.

We are pleased to announce that the children have raised money to go towards the Ruiri Orphanage building, a cheque for £72.04 has been sent. If anyone would like to make a further donation then please send them into the office and we will pass then on to the Ruiru Orphanage.
